Three officers suspended in spurious liquor issue
Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu has held a review meeting on the cheap liquor issue. He felt that three officers were responsible for not taking action which lead to the promotion of spurious liquor. He asked the Department to suspend them. Amongst those who were suspended included an Excise SP.

Heavy rains sweep Andhra Pradesh
Many districts of Andhra Pradesh were experiencing moderate to heavy rains. Badrachalam and Makthal reported 10cm of rain fall while many others were reported 2 to 3 cms.

Netherlands Ambassador reviews GHEP Project
The Ambassador of Netherlands KFC Koch who visited Hyderabad reviewed the Green Hyderabad Environment Project (GHEP) of the Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA). Chair Person Mrs. Lakshmi Parthasarathy, K Bhoopal Reddy of HUDA explained about the progress.

VUDA making final touches of city plan
VUDA's Chief Urban Planner LB Arunachalam said that VUDA has received a copy of the draft plan designed by Consulting Engineering Services Ltd - a New Delhi based company and that VUDA is making the final touches for the plan. The plan is expected to be released in three months time.

The remand period for MLA CK Babu who was accused in a murder case was extended by the 5th Metropolitan Magistrate in Chitoor.

SPY Reddy quits from Congress
Municipal Chairman of Nandyal SPY Reddy resigned from his membership with Congress and said that he will lead an independent allegation on Rayalaseema canal water rights. He said that he is not looking for politics and wish to wage a way for the people in the region.

BJP to put canidate for Karwan seat
State BJP President N Indrasena Reddy said that it will be putting a candidate for the Karwan seat in Hyderabad in the upcoming elections. Speaking on Congress, he said that the part is much weaker than it was in 1999. He participated in a program organized by the AP Union of Working Journalists.
