Chandrababu Naidu makes new trend in party politics - organized a phone in program with booth members
Telugu Desam Party President Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu set up a new trend in the way Party Presidents interact with their members. Mr. Naidu has setup a phone-in program with Panchayat and Booth level members telecasted live by Teja television channel from NTR Bhawan.

The program entitled "Dial Your President" was well received by the party members and created new joy among them. Another new trend is of using computerized statistical database of members of the party. When a caller calls in, the President is able to see entire information along with the photograph about the caller on a screen showing the data. He made a note on various problems raised during the session and promised that the necessary actions will be taken. The feedback from over 60,000 booth committees current formed will send their representations to the central committee.

TDP's relations with BJP are fair
Speaking with the press after the program, he said that he is confident of TDP's win in the upcoming elections and that the surveys conducted recently also reveled the same. He said that if opposition parties support the issue of provision of reservations to upper castes of the society, TDP will discuss about it and support it. Speaking on

Awareness has to be created on proposed Uranium project in Andhra Pradesh - says CMD Gupta
Chief Managing Director of Uranium Corporation of India (UCI) Mr. R Gupta, said in Hyderabad that awareness has to be brought among the people in regard to the proposed Uranium Filtration plant in the state. He said that there will be no damage to the Environment due to this and that water in River Krishna will not be affected.

He said that the project generates employment to 800 and will take near about 1 year for the completion. He said that there will be no problem to Nagarjunasagar. He said that the mine will have Zero Discharge and does not release any radiations to the environment. He said that necessary arrangements will be made to manage water collected during Rainy season

Star Tortoises brought to Nehru Zoological Park
Over 580 Star Tortoise - a rare bread of tortoises were brought to Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad. The tortoises were brought back from Kuala Lumpur Airport where the tortoises were found to be brought to their country illegally. The Airport authorities made arrangements to send the tortoises to Chennai from where they are brought to the zoo. One person was arrested at Chennai in regard to the case. Many of the tortoises were found to have been brought from Chitoor. The Zoo authorities are making necessary arrangements for the protection of these tortoise.

A similar incident occurred in August 23, 2002 when 1830 Gold tortoises were recovered from Singapore Airport.

CM happy at peoples response for Godavari Pushkarams
Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu expressed his happiness at peoples response for the 12-day Godavari Pushkarams. He said thanked the 16 Departments of the Government, District Administrations and various people involved in the smooth conduction of the Pushkarams. He said that certificates and special rewards will be given for best officers and personnel.

Speaking on the results of the survey conducted by three independent groups, he said that people were happy with the arrangements made by the Government and that 42% said that they are very good, 52% said that arrangements are good while a mere 6% said that they were bad.

Two Telangana MLA's announces that they did not resign from Congress
The Telangana Congress Forum was into thought with two Congress who were believed to have moved to the Forum announced that they did not resign from the Congress Party membership. Podem Veerayya and Jupalle Krishna Rao (MLA from Kollapur, Mahabubnagar) announced today over television that they did not sent any resignation letter to Ms. Sonia Gandhi and that they were continuing with the Andhra Pradesh Congress Party.

BJLP Leader asks for more MROs
BJLP Leader and Visakha-1 MLA K Haribabu and other party supporters staged a demonstration at the District Collectorate demanding more Mandal Revenue Offices. They asked for the setting up of atleast one Mandal Revenue Offices for 60,000 to 70,000 population.
