More devotees comes for Godavari Pushkarams as the festival enters third day
More and more people continued to visit banks of River Godavari to have a holy dip as a part of the Pushkarams. The Sravana Sukravaram factor influenced many women devotees to come to the river for a holy bath.

CM directs authorities to help farmers on dry crops
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has held a video conference with authorities from various districts from the Secretariat this evening. He directed them to help the farmers in picking dry crops as the water levels at Nagarjuna and Srisailam reservoirs were not up to the mark. He said that concrete plans have to be drawn artificial rains and asked the Relief commissioner and Irrigation secretary to come up with the proposals in 2 or 3 days. Speaking with Agricultural Scientists, he expressed his dissatisfaction and said that 'knowledge needs to be application oriented'. He said that he is spending about 1 1/2 hr every week to keep track of research developments in state and asked the scientists to be more serious in their works.

Congress asks for CBI enquiry for assault on Sankar Rao
The Congress committee asked the Government for a CBI enquiry into the comments made on Shadnagar MLA Sankar Rao at the time of inauguration of a TTD Kalyanamandapam. Mr. Rao began on a one day fast today at Gandhi statue in Secunderabad. CLP Leader Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy said that dalits were ill-treated.

5 dies in a road accident
5 persons died as the car in which they were traveling was hit by a lorry. The car began from Hyderabad and is going to Rajahmundry as a part of the Godavari festivals. Their car was hit by the fateful lorry at Suryapet. Another person - MK Devudayya - escapade with injuries and was admitted to hospital.

All set for State BJP Party election nominations
All arrangements were made for the formal filing of nominations for the State BJP President. Legislative Party Leader Indrasenareddy is expected to have a unanimous victory as the party tried its best to convince C Jangareddy who was also in the foray. All arrangements for the smooth conduction of the elections to be held on Sunday if required. Senior Leader Parakala Prabhakar said that the meetings will be discussing on the strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha and State elections to be held next year apart from discussing on current state problems. The election for the National Council Members will be held during these two days.
