FAPCCI said that it is supporting Reserve Bank of India's decision not to give loans to Directors and their relatives of Urban and Co-operative Banks. The association said that this decision will create confidence among people who put their moneys in Co-operative and Urban Banks. RBI has taken this decision in the wake of recently unearthed scams such as that of Charminar Bank, Prudential Bank etc. where in the Directors of the banks have taken loans to a huge amount and silently 'escaped' without repaying.
Indian Olympic Association Medical Commission finalised a list of 21 athletes who were found to have use drugs in the recently ended National Games. The list also included athletes from Andhra Pradesh. The list includes:
  • P Udaya Lakshmi (400m. Hurdles)
  • Aalapati Kalyani (400m. Hurdles)
  • Hrudayanand Singh (Discuss)
  • Nijappa (Cycling)
  • Venkateswarulu (Weight Lifting)
  • Bhagyaraj (Boxing)
  • Srikanth (Boxing)
  • Sandeep (Boxing)
It may be recalled that comments were raised by officials of the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh that IOA members were unhappy at Andhra Pradesh leading the medals tally in the recently held in December 2002. As many as two players were banned from playing sports for a period of 2 years. The players also have to return the medals that were earlier awarded to them.
Members of POW, today, have burn the effigy of Chief Minister against the Government's decision to grant license to discotheque centers in Hyderabad city outskirts. The association says this will increase harassment on women in the society.
World Telugu Federation President Mr. VL Indrakar reminded Freedom fighter Sri Vaavila's relationship with the association.
Chota K Naidu, Krishna Vamsi and other film personalities were at a press meet to listen to the press's view of the movie Aite. Artists and technical staff of the movie felt that their creativity in the scenes and dialogues gave a plus point to the movie.
