Chandrababu Naidu sets new record as largest serving Non-Congress CM of AP
Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu has set a new record by becoming the longest serving Chief Minister of the state apart from the Congress rule in the state. Chief Minister had a number of problems earlier to get the Government move without any hurdles including the challenging comments made by the oppositions, Irrigation projects which need to be kept flowing despite water levels keep going down, Power reforms despite resistance from the farmer community, drought time etc. His decentralization of the party and assigning works to party workers to work for the development of constituencies.
No Coaching classes during summer holidays - clarifies BIE
The Board of Intermediate said that it will not allow any Junior Colleges to hold special classes. This was stated by BIE Commissioner Mr. Krupanandam when he met with a section of the Parents Association members who visited the Board office asking to reduce the number of holidays.

TRS to form a forum on new states
Telangana Rastra Samithi Party President Chandrasekhara Rao said that he will meet leaders of other states who wish to form new regional states and form a national front to work for the achievement of the formation of the new states. He said that the names of the parties that will join the forum and other information will be announced at the 2nd anniversary meetings to be held in Warangal. He said that it is important to get about 70 seats in the parliament to get their voices heard.
Naxals blasts Hot mixing plant
Naxals of the People's War Group took to action in Nizamabad by blasting a hot mixing plant in Ditchpalli. 20 armed naxals are believed to be involved in this operation. A letter stating that a recent encounter was the reason for their attack. They also burnt a procaine. Krishnapeta group of the group looted the nearby areas for food grains.
TDP wins 12 more MPTC's
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) won 12 out of the 18 Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies (MPTC) buelections held on April 1. Seven of these elections results were unanimous.
Government Employment policy as per World Bank dictation
The CPI(M) blamed that the Government's new recruitment policy is being implemented as per the directions of the World Bank. CPI(M) State Secretary Mr. BV Raghavulu referred to a paragraph in a World Bank document which recommended the State Government to downsize the staff size by 2.5% per annum.
New Courses at state Polytechnics
Minister for Technical Education Mr. N Anajaneyulu said that State Government has announced the offering of 9 new courses at Polytechnics that come effective from next academic year. The courses which can be taken after 10+2 level are as follows:
- Event Management
- Travel and Tourism Management
- Fashion Design & Apparel Manufacturing
- Fashion Design & Apparel Merchandising
- Textile Design
- Marketing
Courses after 10th Standard are
- Insurance Banking
- Retailing
- Building Services Management
TDP MP Mr. Ravula chandrasekhara Reddy said that it is unfair on Dr. Y S Rajasekhara Reddy to make personal comments on CM. He said that the development plans of the state were clearly visible and that many states were today taking the reforms implemented in the state in them.
AP Human Reforms said that Police forces during their encounter with naxal RK have intentionally killed him despite having a change to get him captive. This was stated by Fact-finding committee in Hyderabad today.
An employee at the Dak Sadhan in Hyderabad died after jumping from the 9th floor of the building. Police feel that this was a suicide as the 9th floor is not used. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead by then.
Pradesh Congress Committee and NSUI demanded for recall of the recent order where recruitments will no longer be taken on a permanent basis but instead on contractual basis. The Opposition said that this is privatization of government jobs and taking jobs away from the hands of educated youth. An effigy of the Chief Minister and copies of the GO were burnt against public service commission. Roads were blocked which caused disruption to traffic for a while. Back at a Press talk, PCC Spokesman Sri Rosayya said that last 4 years have seen declining number of recruitments being done and it is now made to zero. Revenue Minister however, said that since committees will be formed in all the departments, looking and planning for the necessary manpower required and other related issued would not be difficult. He said that recruitments to Executive posts will be immediately undertaken while for other posts may take some time.
