Two ISI activists arrested

Two activists trained by the ISI were arrested by Nalgonda police. The arrest - Syed Noor Rehman (23) and Mohd. Imtiaz (24) were believed to be in touch with Asghar Ali who was responsible for the murder of former Home Minister of Gujarat Mr. Haren Pandya.

Three constables injured as rifle accidentally gets fired

Three Constables of the Armed Reserve Headquarters in Sangareddy were injured when a bullet from a rifle of a constable Mr. Chandrasekhar got fired accidentally. The injured were admitted at Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad.

TDP district committe elections on May 4

The Telugu Desam Party has fixed May 4 as the date for polls of District Committees. Convener of TDP State Election Committee said that once the elections are completed, mini-Mahadu's will be held in two-phases - once between May 8 and 9 and later on May 10 and 11. The State-level Mahanadu will be held between May 27-29 in Tirupati.

The Maulana Azad National Urdu University launched its website www.manuu.ac.in which provides detailed information about the courses and admission procedure of the University.

All arrangements for EAMCET 2003 made

Convener of EAMCET 2003 - Mr. LVAR Sharma said that all arrangements for the smooth conduction of EAMCET 2003 were made. He said that Minister for Technical Education will pick up the examination paper code the next day morning which will be informed to all Examination centers. A total of 1,32,276 candidates for Engineering and 41,130 for Medicine were writing this years EAMCET Examination to get admitted in Engineering and Medical Colleges in the state.

Singareni Collieries annouces profits

The Singareni Collieries Company Limited announced a profit of Rs. 400 crores and a record turnover of Rs. 3615 crores despite frequent hitches from employee strikes. The company accounts to over 10% of coal production in the country. This was announced by Minister for Energy & Coal Mr. K Subbarayudu.

Joint Director of Agriculture, Mr. P Ramanand said that the combined Zonal Research and extension Advisory council meeting will be held from April 28-30 at Nizamabad.
