9 dies in a road accident near Nalgonda

9 people died when a Lorry carrying sand load hit a Semi-Luxury bus run by the APSRTC near Gundrampalle in Nalgonda. All those who were dead were travelers in the front cabin of the lorry. Lorry driver and 7 members from the same family were believed to be dead. Only one member from the family survived following the accident. The family is coming back to their home town to celebrate Telugu New Year - Ugaadi.

CLP Leader to go on Paada Yaatra's for 60 days

The Congress Party, today announced that CLP Leader Dr. Y S Rajasekhar Reddy will be touring by walk in drought-effected areas in the state for 60 days. Congress MLA's from the region will be joining him. The Paada Yaatra is being organized to know people's difficulties - said D Srinivas who felt the need to express its solidarity and confirm the support of Congress Part to the people.

CLP Leader's tour - a political stunt - says Chandrababu Naidu

TDP Party President Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu said that the Central Government has announced 10 lakh tones of rice to the state to fight drought situation. He spoke at the Party polit-bureau meeting which was attended by TDP members. He said that CLP Leader's Paada Yaatra is a political stunt and asked TDP members to make sure to visit 2-3 days in the constituency.

Indian Youth Volleyball arrives in Vizag

The Indian Volleyball team taking part in the Asian Youth Volleyball Tournament that begins from 6th April 2003 arrived in Visakhapatnam today. The team members were well received at Railway station by sports lovers and the reception committee. Australian, Chinese and Iranian team members are yet to arrive.

Congress supporters began agitation at Bramhankhatkor Police Station in Kurnool where a person who was taken to custody yesterday was found dead. The Congress supporters said that the death was because of torture by SI Marriswami and asked for an enquiry into the issue.
Usage of Helmets by Motorists was made compulsory from today. RTA and Traffic Police authorities said that they will be collecting fines if this was not strictly observed.
