The Electronic and Technology Man of the Year, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri. Chandrababu Naidu today inaugurated "Millennium Appliances India Ltd.", a new facility established by the Videocon group in the State of Andhra Pradesh.

The inauguration was done by the Hon'ble Chief Minister by a computerized remote control procedure termed as "Virtual Inauguration". The actual ceremony took place at the Darbar Hall, Hotel Taj Krishna. After the formal inauguration, the Hon'ble Chief Minister had live interaction with the company officials in the plant situated at about 50 kms from Hyderabad at Imarat Kancha village, Maheshwaram Mandal, R.R. District.

The total cost of the facility is about Rs.200 Crores. It consists of the most modern and state of the art manufacturing set up for different consumer electronic and home appliances ranging from Colour TVs, VCD/DVD players, hi-fi audio systems and dish washers, washing machines, refrigerators and air conditioners.

All these products will be marketed by the group under the brand name Videocon as well as the other brands handled by the group like Sansui, Akai, Kenstar and Toshiba. The facilities are fully automated and computer controlled ones which ensure high quality standards and zero defect. It is a stand alone model facility with all the necessary facilities like auto component insertion and plastic moulding

The project is expected to generate employment to the tune of about 1,000 persons. The company has plans to expand the facilities in phase II of the project and the facilities will be doubled with the expansion.
