High Court sends notice to Govt. on Food for Work program
The High Court has sent a notice to the Government of Andhra Pradesh, Minister for Power Sri K Subba Raidu, Food Corporation of India, Mr. KV Babji - Inspector, and the District Collector of West Godavari in regard to present their views. The Court has sent the notice after accepting a petition filed by the Pradesh Congress Committee.

Sri Procharam Srinivasa Reddy resigns
Minister for Panchayati Raj and Rural Development, Rural Water Supply and Wage Employment - Sri Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy decided to resign for his ministerial post in the wake of a scam in which his son-in-law was believed to be involved. Speaking to the press, he said that either he or his son-in-law are not involved in the stationary scam. He told the press that only after consulting the Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu, he submitted his resignation letter then and there at the residence of the CM.

Commissioner of Primary Education has sent a notification stating the postponement of the Promotion, Rationalization and Transfer of Teacher posts that were originally scheduled to be held between September 13-17. The postponement seems to be in the wake of a Court order.

The People's War Group extremist group announced the body of Mr. Chittibabu - constable from Anakapalle who was abducted was indeed at the G Madugula forests. This was announced by Special Zone Committee member Mr. Chalapati.

Teacher's Day celebrated in Educational institutions all over state
September 5 was celebrated as Teachers Day - a day on which students show his gratitude and thankfulness to teachers who shaped them. All Educational institutions in the state celebrated Teachers Day today. Teacher's Day was instituted on the birthday of former President of India Dr Sarvepalle Radha Krishna who was a great teacher and a philosopher.

A program was held at the Zilla Parishad in Visakhapatnam in which District In-charge Minister Sri Ch Ayyannapatrudu felicitated top-notch teachers working at various Government-run schools in the district. He presented medals and asked for united effort for the removal of illiteracy from the state.

A special program was organized at the Town Center in Srikakulam in which over 100 teachers were felicitated. Minister Sri Tammineni Seetaram who presided at the function asked the teachers to uphold human values and create interest among the students community in various subjects.

Ozomen capsule factory seized
The factory and stocks room of Fizi Chem factory at Vijayawada were being raided by Drug Department as the Ayurvedic capsules being manufactured by the company carried some dangerous drug compositions. Over 40 lakh capsules of Ozomen, Ozomen Forte and others were seized and some of these were sent to laboratories for further analysis.

Department of Forests organized Vana Bhoomi Celebrations in various areas of the state including at Warangal where Minister Mr. Mandava Venakteswara Rao took part. He distributed awarded to students to uphold their spirits.

Minister Sri Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy said that the Government will hold an enquiry into illegal purchases made at the Kurnool Panchayat Raj where stationary worth over Rs. 2 Crores was purchased. He said that action will be taken on those were involved in the scandal. He also ruled out the involvement of an outsider in this issue.

Chairman of the Bio-technology Committee instituted to look at the developments of Bio-Technology Sector in the state Sri MV Rao inaugurated a Hybridization Park (APML-BTU Lab) set up at Tirupati.

Farmers from Chitoor staged a dharna at the AP Transco office demanding for the cancellation of power bills being charged illegally.

Over Rs. 1 lakh worth packets of Guthka, Jarda and Khaini were being recovered from a gang who were into selling and distribution of the items in Vijayawada. It many be recalled the Government of India and State Government banned the consumption, manufacture and stocking of these items.

GAIL to begin its gas line project works from July next year
Gas Authority of India (GAIL) said that the Gas Pipeline project at Visakhapatnam will be completed by June next year and that experimental operations will begin soon. The new facility will allow GAIL to fill 2.6 lakh gas cylinder additionally from the region.

Sugar farmers from Nizamabad has held a demonstration demanding the Government to keep Sugar factories in public sector only and not to privatize them.
