13 Naxals surrender before DGP
13 Naxals of the People's War Group surrendered before the DGP Sri Pervaram Ramulu. The naxals worked at various levels at the group. Speaking with the press, Sri Ramulu said that there are 5 major platoons in the state being operated by the group. These includes Karimnagar - Nizamabad, Warangal - Khammam border, Visakhapatnam-Vizianagaram. The arms being seized from the group recently was displayed to the press.

Sleuths of the Anti Corruption Bureau has identified a college named National College in Vijaywada that has been operating on the name of a Degree and Junior College. The college has only 22 students but has been taking grants from the Government stating that the college has 40 teachers and 20 staff members. The grants allocated was to a tune of Rs. 4 lakhs.

Farmers in Anantapur broke the gates of the Kooderu Sub-station and took away starters and switchboards that the Power employees have taken from them for not paying dues. The farmers were supported by Congress and CPI.

The CMD of APSRTC Mr. Singh said that the Corporation is not in a position to pay for 15 days leave encashment for the year 2002 and that this will be provided in the next year. The CMD asked the co-operation of the Employees and the Unions to understand that the income from passengers has decreased during this year.

Former Chief Minister Sri Kotla Vijayabhaskara Reddy's first death anniversary was observe red at the Gandhi Bhawan in Hyderabad. Senior Congress Members took part in the program and remembered the efforts put by the leader for the party and the people.

PCC Spokesman Mr. Undapalle Arun Kumar said that the State Congress Party indeed had "Free Power to Farmers" as its manifesto and that the party took the consent of the President Mr. M Satyanarayana Rao.
