Fire in APSRTC Bus kills 8 8 persons dies of fire when an APSRTC Hi-Tech Bus (AP11Z 387) caught fire at about 12:10 Night near Kurnool. 25 others who were traveling in the bus escaped with injuries. The reasons for the fire were not yet known. A women passenger who was in comma state said that a person was traveling with a kerosene container and intentionally opened and spread it all over the bus and has lit fire. He himself also died in the glares of the fire. The bus is on its way from Hyderabad to Rayachoti (Cuddapah). The exact reasons of the fire were yet to be answered. A Magistrate enquiry was ordered into the death of 2 dalit youth who died in police custody in Chandrugonda in Khammam district. They were brought to the station following a complaint by a farmer who stated that the youth have stolen his cattle. Minister for Major Irrigation Mr. K Srihari said that the Government will decide on the compensation that has to be paid to to farmers who opted for water from Nagarjunasagar canal. PCC says it is against privatization of APSRTC The Pradesh Congress Committee said that they won't accept the Privitisation of APSRTC. The UTF staged a protest in front of the DEO office in Hyderabad to solve the pending problems immediately. The Guntur Police arrested 2 persons involved in the manufacture of pirated CD's. The Vijayawada Police arrested 6 persons involved in the design and distribution of fake certificates, marks lists and memos. The accused agreed that they sold to 62 people each costing at Rs. 20,000.
