Power cuts as situation demands - directs CM
Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu ordered the Power Department to resort to power cuts 'that the situation demands'. This was announced by Power Minister Sri K Subba Raidu and Information Minister Sri S Chandramohan Reddy. The Minister said that the power consumption is far more than that was generated. It was also decided not to sell power to the Eastern Grid.

The New Chief Secretary to the State Mrs. Sathi Nair took charge from K Swaminathan.

The General Body Meeting of the TDP was postponed to October 30, 2002. This was announced from a release from NTR Trust Bhawan.

Kurnool Police arrested 3 officials involved in the issue of passport to Abu Salem, Monica Bedi yesterday night and produced them in the court today. The Police arrested ASI Sattar, Revenue Inspector Mohd. Yasin and Passport Clerk Srinivas.

The Andhra Pradesh Dalit Vibajan Front demanded the 2.5 lakh jobs in the State Government should be filled immediately and should help the unemployees in the state.
