Naxals bid on life of MLA - goes away with guns
Naxals of the People's War Group took under control Congress MLA Mr. Janga Krishnamurthy at his residence this morning. They took two 9mm carbide guns from the Gunman. About 30 naxals who came to the area created havoc at around 1:30 afternoon and went away. SP of Guntur, Mr. P Seetaramanjaneyulu spoke with the press and said that the Minister was not hurt.

CM visits drought hit areas of Nalgonda
Chief Minister visited various areas of Nalgonda and personally saw the severe drought situation and the failed Wheat and Paddy crop. He promised to the farmers of the new integrated river waters project. He said that Neeru - Meeru program was started to avoid the problem of scarce water. Minister Smt. Ganesh Nimarjanam at Hussain Sagar, Hyderabad Ganesh Nimarjanotsavams begins all over state

Ganesh Nimarjanotsavams began in all districts of the state. Police were deployed in large numbers particularly in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad to see that no accident or communal clashes arises. Helicopters were deployed to monitor the movement of Ganesh idols from one area to another. Traffic system was modified to facilitate quick and easy moment of Ganesh Idols. Minister Sri Bandaru Dattatreya and other officials enjoyed looking at the various idols from the Charminar center.

Bharateeya Janata Party asked for the state Government to see that the pending projects are completed in time. The party meet began at Kurnool. The meeting is also discussing about the problems of Cuddapah, Chitoor, Rangareddy and Nalgonda districts. The party also discussed about the arrangements for the Satyasyamalam program to be held at Tirupati.

2 persons were arrested in Tenali by the Vijayawada Police for selling fake Rs. 1 Revenue stamps in Krishna and Guntur districts. ACP Mr. Ramreddy said that the stamps were printed in Sivakasi.

Sri Venkateswara Arts College won the handball competitions held at Degree level at the Sri Venkateswara University grounds in Tirupati.
