CLP Leader promises pressure on CM for free power to farmers
Congress Legislature Party Leader Dr. YS Rajasekhar Reddy said that they will bring about pressure on the Chief Minister to provide free current to the farmers. He said that he will tour all over the state to collect more information on the Food for Work scandal. He also said that pending projects should be completed to solve more problems. He requested his party members not to bring garlands to welcome him. Meanwhile, the Telugu Desam Party termed it as a gimmick.

Seminar on Latest Developments in Concrete Technology held
A Seminar on Latest Developments in Concrete Technology was held at Hotel Dolphin in Visakhapatnam to commemorate Concrete Day and Engineer's Day. Vice Chancellor of Andhra University Prof. YC Simhadri took part as the Chief Guest. Giving the inaugural addresses, he said reminded the gathering on the 'vision and principles' of Sri Mokshagundam Visweswaraya. Dr. Iqbal Ali and Sri Satyanarayan Singh were present as Guest of Honour. A book entitled Water Resources Engineering authored by Sri Challa Satyanrayana Murthy was released. Eminent Speakers, Researches and people from Engineering, Manufacturing and the Building industry and the University were present and took part in the meet.

Collected stroies book of Patanji released
A collection of stories by KNY Patanji in the form of a book entitled KNY Patanji Rachanalu was released by Kalipatnam Rama Rao at a program held at Vizag Journalist Forum in Visakhapatnam. Sri Varma and Sri Srihari were present at the inauguration function and expressed their views on the book.

HIV Tests compulsory before marriage
Health Minister Sri Kodela Sivaprasada Rao said that the Government of Andhra Pradesh will be coming with a rule making it compulsory for HIV tests before marriage. This decision was taken because of the constantly increasing number of AIDS effected patients reaching 4 Lakhs mark.

Image of Transport Dept. has to be increased - says Commissioner
State Transport Authority Commissioner Mr. Giridhar felt that the Transport Department is one of the few Government Departments where there is no corruption and that the image of Department has to increase. He spoke at the General Body Meeting of the Motor Vehicle Inspectors Association.

The Funeral of Commander BK Sarma was held today. The dead body has been brought from Hyderabad to Eluru earlier.
