The Police found 3 dead bodies, highly decomposed in a house in Uma Nagar. The incident came to light when the police were enquiring a thief. The deceased were identified as Jayapradha(55), Sharada Devi(35) and Sudha Rani(32). It has been found out that Jayapradha had divorced for his husband a few years ago.
The 11 Kids who were detained at the Vijayawada railway station were sent back to Tamil Nadu by the Railway Protection Force(RPF). The kids were sent to Chennai by the Pinakini Express in the morning. According to the Inspector, M Chenchaiah the kids were sent along with 7 elders which included 5 women. The Telugu Daily Newspaper 'Andhra Prabha' and 'Andhra Prabha weekly' was taken over by the Vasavi Communications Ltd. The Vasavi Communications has singed an MoU with Express Publications for the take-over. Mr. Gopalakrishna, chairman outlined Vasavi's plans to enter the print media in a big way. He said that 'Andhra Prabha' will start new editions soon. The Finance Minister, Mr. Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said the State Government is committed to uplift weaker sections in the Society. Participating in a programme organised by the District Industries Centre, he said that loans will be provided during the current year under the self-employment schemes. The Visakhapatnam MP, Mr. M.V.V.S. Murthy, Visakhapatnam-II MLA, Pinninti Varalakshmi and others took part in the meeting. The Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the 30th State-level conference of the Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists in Ongole. Speaking on the occasion, he said Media had the power to play a constructive as well as destructive role but only those newspapers which adopted unbiased stand would win the confidence of people. The Minister for Marketing, D. Anjaneyulu, Collector of Ongole Mr. R Karikal Valaven, the ZP Chairman, Mr. M Kasi Reddy and others took part in the meet. The CLP leader, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy toured the drought-affected areas of Atchavelli, Putrayunipeta and Yerripalle villages in Pulivendula Mandal. He accused the State Government of being indifferent in initiating drought relief measures. The Telugu Desam President Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu condemned the killing of Maruti, MPTC member and president of Telugu Desam of Kanaganapalli mandal. The Chief Minister of Karnataka, Mr. S.M. Krishna offered prayers at Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt at Mantralayam in Kurnool. He spent over 2 hours in the temple.
