All set for II World Chess Cup
The Hi-Tech City of Hyderabad is getting ready for the II World Chess Cup that will be held at the beautiful Ramoji Film City.

The Tournaments were organized by the All India Chess Federation and Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh between October 9 - 22, 2002.

On September 24, 2002, FIDE announced a list of participants for World Chess Championships
The list of chess players who will be participating in the World Chess Tournament included Grand Master Mr. Viswanathan Anand, Pendyala Hariskrishna, Ms. Koneru Hampi among others.

October 16, 2002, Indian Women Chess Grand Master Ms. Koneru Humpi entered into the Semi Finals finals of IInd World Cup Chess Tournament held at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad.

Anand and Jhu Yuhuwa wins II World Cup Chess
Indian Grand Master Viswanathan Anand beats Kasimdnaov while Jhu Yuhuwa beat Stephanova to win the II World Chess Cup at the Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. The prize money for the competitions is USD 46,000 and USD 16,000 for Men and Women winners respectively. The presentation ceremony was scheduled for tomorrow.
