State Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu met Prime Minister Mr. AB Vajpayee in Delhi and asked for waiver of long and short term loans. He asked for an assistance of Rs. 1210 Crores to fight the drought situation in the state.
The State Unit President of BJP asked the Government for the postponement of levy of power bills from farmers of the drought hit areas of the state. FIDE released the final list of players who are going to take part in the World Chess Cup competitions that are going to be held between October 9 - 22, 2002. The list included 2 Grand Masters from India with a total of 4 players in Men's category and 5 in Women's category.
