Common Wealth Parliamentarians Seminar begins
Lok Sabha Speaker Sri Murali Manohar Joshi inaugurated Common Wealth Parliamentarians Seminar began at the Main Hall of AP Legislature in Hyderabad. He said that Members are showing interest on politics rather than on the welfare of the society and thus more time is not devoted in making laws. Speaking at the program, CM said stressed on the need of live broadcast of the proceedings over Television channels to create an idea among the people as to what Members were doing.

Speaker of Legislature Mrs. Prathiba Bharati, Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Speaker K Harieswara Reddy, Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Secretary Gen. Davis Marshall, Parliament Secretary General Mr. Malhotra and others took part in the inaugural session.

The annual Sirmanotsavam in the busy town of Vizianagaram was held with much devotion. Special prayers were offered to Lordess Pydithalli Ammavaaru. Devotees in large numbers took part in the prayers and took the darshan of the Lordess. Minister Sri Dandu Sivaramaraju was a special invitee this year. He promised to that an amendment will be made to provide free entry to all temples in the state.

VAT in Andhra Pradesh from next year
Commissioner of Commercial Taxes Mr. Ramesh Kumar asked the Officials of the Department to get prepared for the VAT that is going to be introduced in the state from next year. He inaugurated a seminar at Nampalli in Hyderabad.

Rs. 7 Crores for National Games preparations for Visakhapatnam
Minister for Forests and Visakhapatnam District In-charge Minister Sri Ch Ayyannapatrudu said that Rs. 7 Crores was allocated to the city for various works for the National Games.
