CPI(M) against 'Free Power' to farmers The State CPI(M) Secretary Mr. B Raghavulu felt that giving Subsidy on Power bills is better than providing free power to farmers. He felt that free current is not a good offer and that there will be many problems involved both technically and financially. He further said that his party will protest against this offer. The CPM felt that implementation of 'Food for Work' program is the only option to save people in drought areas. Union Minister for Railways Mr. Bandaru Dattatreya visited the Ports of Kakinada and Krishnapatnam. He said that Railway Lines will be laid to these ports to facilitate easy transportation of goods from these ports. A Teachers group from Netherlands monitored the facilities and methods of teaching in Srikakulam today. They had a chat with the Collector who explained the facilities offered and methods of teaching in the district. ICICI to give loans to patients who undergo heart operations Apollo and CARE Hospitals, Hyderabad have announced their tie-up with ICICI Bank which will be providing loans to meet the medical expenses of patients who under go hearty operations which are expensive. The patients can repay the money with a 12% pa interest. A maximum of Rs. 3 Lakhs will be given under this loan scheme. The loans can be given as less as 5 days. CM makes surprise visit to slum areas of Hyderabad Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu made a surprise visit to slums areas in the city of Hyderabad. He questioned about the lack of cleanliness to Sanitary inspectors who look at the area. He said that the Government will create a Land statistics in the twin cities and that strict action will be taken on land-grabbers and those who build religious centers in Government areas. He said that over 2 lakh houses will be constructed with all basic facilities under the Ambedkar Awas Yojna Program. He also monitored the construction works at the Gandhi Hospital in Mushiriwada. Member of Parliament Mr. Venkateswarulu monitored the Clean and Green program of the Warangal Municipal Corporation. He later took part in garbage cleaning program. Minister for Forests Mr. Ch Ayyannapatrudu took part in Clean and Green program in Guntur. He said that the Government has put the plantation in 18 lakh hectares as the target. Renowned decoit Ibrahim and other members of the Olive Green gang were arrested in Vijayawada. 5 constables who tried to held the gang were suspended from their duties. The Visakhapatnam District Police has organized a blood donation camp at the Kailasagiri Armed Reserve Police Grounds. Over 70 police personnel donated their blood which was sent to the King George Hospital.
