Rs. 3000 Medical Allowance for MLA
The State Cabinet met today and discussed on various issues including Janmabhoomi Program, Neeru Meeru, Food for Work, drought situation in various districts among others. The meet also decided to give Rs. 3000 as Medical Allowance to MLA's. The meet discussed on conduction of National Games to be held in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam and on Mid-night meal program for children. Another major decision taken by the Cabinet is to put a break to filling of pending posts in various departments for not having followed Reservations.

Congress Party demands for enquiry on fees paid to a Consultancy firm
The State Congress Party demanded for an enquiry in regard to the statement from AP Transco that all the fees paid to Arthur Anderson Company were made from the Department For International Development (DFID) and from that of Government of Andhra Pradesh. They said that the statement was in contradiction to that of Fiancé Minister Mr. Yenamala Ramakrishnudu's comments.

Governor of Andhra Pradesh Dr. C Rangarajan has released the posters of Cerebral Policy drafted by the NIMNS Hospital of Hyderabad. The posters were designed to create general awareness on the disease in public.

The Chairman of BCCI Grounds Committee visited the Indira Priyadarshini stadium of Vijayawada and felt that the pitch at the stadium will be good for batsmen. The organizers said that a net will be arranged round the ground keeping in view of the situation of the crowds.

Home Minister Mr. T Devendar Goud inaugurated the Administrative Block of Women Jail in Hyderabad. Speaking on the occasion, he said that a programme will be finalized this week to enable prisoners with good temper to be released soon before the tenure.

The Collector of Vijayawada District inaugurated the Federation Building of the regional Mahila Credit Societies. The building is equipped with all modern facilities including computers.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau caught a DCTO while taking bribe from a steel trader in Visakhapatnam. Raids on his premises in Gajuwaka and Srikakulam unveiled Lakhs of rupees and share certificates.

APSRTC gets a new chair person
Mrs. Shoba Nagi Reddy was appointed as the new Chair person of APSRTC. The new Directors who were joined are Ganni Krishna (East Godavari), Srinadha Reddy (Chitoor), Samantakamani (Anantapur), Vidyasagar Rao (Karimnagar), P Manohar (Mahaboobnagar) and Mante Parthasaradhi (West Godavari).

Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu promised of 5 acres land and Rs. 1 Crore Financial help for NASSCOM Hyderabad branch. He asked NASSCOM to provide International Status for the city and said that the Government will provide all necessary support.

The Staff and Workers Association of APSRTC said that they will oppose the VRS scheme. They decided to hold a big protest in this regard. The President of the Association, Mr. MN Reddy requested all associations to cooperate in this regard.

The CPI Party celebrated the 85th Russian October Revolt today. Members and supporters of the CPML and MCPI party took out a rally for Iraq prosperity and raised slogans against Americ.

A free health camp for tribal people was organised in Tekupalli Mandal of Khammam district by Singareni Collieries. Authorities of the coal mining company promised support for such in the future.

The 2-day District Collector's Meet will begin tomorrow at Hyderabad. All arrangements have been set to discuss and sort out on the issues and take steps for the development of districts in the state.
