Union Minister Sri Bandaru Dattatreya said that Government of India has allocated Rs. 17,000 Crores to Railway Protection Fund. He said that money from this fund will be used to provide ex-gratia during accidents. He checked the Khajipet Railway Station.

24 people fell ill after taking contaminated meat at a dinner. This incident happened in Lingapalem mandal of West Godavari district. The ill-takers were admitted to local hospital and medical care was provided.

All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA) Secretary Brunda Karath said that women are loosing their minimum rights in the NDA-led Government. She demanded for bare requirements such as food-security to women at a press meet in Hyderabad.

Telugu Academy announces Awards to toppers
Telugu Academy announced Telugu Academy Puraskar awards to toppers at Intermediate level who opted for telugu medium. Minister Sri NMB Farooq will be presenting the Puraskars at a function to be held on December 6, 2002.

Governor Dr. C Rangarajan conveyed wishes on Diwali to the people of Andhra Pradesh.
