PWG offers ceasefire for a month
In a positive move for peace, the banned Peoples War Group Naxals (PWG) announced a ceasefire for a month in view of the possible talks between PWG and the Government. This was announced by Mr. Ramakrishna, State Committee Secretary of the group.
APCC President Mr. M Satyanaryana Rao said that he will be participating in the Dharna, Rally and other programs being organized by the City Congress in Warangal on May 10. He will also be participating in the Jana Chaitanya Ratra.
Energy Minister Sri K Subbaraidu said that the Government has no plans in regard to the privatization of AP Genco.
Sri PL Patnaik was re-elected as the Congress Floor Leader for Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation. He was unanimously elected for the post after Corporators met at the Floor Leader Chamber.
A notorious criminal, decoit and former PWG member Manjunath was killed by the Police in the city outskirts of Anantapur district. He is accused in several cases.
Mr. D Peda Mastan, a Congress activist was beaten to death by his rivals in Telugu Desam Party in Durgi mandal in Guntur district.
