APCC organises Peoples Ballot

APCC organised Peoples Ballot on the recent hike of Power prices in the state. People were found to be responding positively and have come to cast their vote on the issue in almost all districts of the state.

Mahanadu program begins at Warangal

Telugu Desam Party President Sri N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the party's annual Mahanadu programme at Warangal this morning. Over 6000 party workers, Ministers and party functionaries from all over the state came to the venue. A total of 36 declarations are expected to be made in the 3-day events.

Speaking at the inaugural session of the 3-day event, Sri Chandrababu said that Telugu Desam Party is committed in setting up new standards in politics and that performance indicators have to be set to see that targets are achieved. He said that Information technology has to be used in all areas and that transparency and speediness should be presented. He asked all committees instituted at various levels should meet often discuss on the developments of the region. He said that both planning and implementation are important. He said that TDP-led Government will be promoting self-employment opportunities and manufacture of value added products. He said that Medical and Health standards have to be improved and reminded that AIDS has no cure and thus enough awareness has to be provided. He said that more powers should be given to local bodies and that backward areas have to be developed by providing better infrastructure.

Huge cutouts of former Chief Minister and founder of TDP Party Sri NT Rama Rao were all over the premises of the Mahanadu. Sri N Chandrababu Naidu paid homage to NTR and inaugurated an exhibition on NTR's Cinema and Political life.

Funeral of Sri Sudheer Reddy held

The body of PCC Vice-President Sri Sudheer Kumar who died yesterday was brought to Gandhi Bhawan for people's homage. His funeral was held later in the evening following a big procession. The Peoples Ballot programme being organised by APCC will be postponed in Hyderabad city.

Dowry case on a US-based Software Engineer

A case of dowry and harassment on a US-based software engineer were register at the Two Town Police station at Bhimavaram. The case was registered on Mr. Sivaprasada Varma, his father and two of his relatives. The brides father filed a case against the above for reportedly taking Rs. 8 Lakhs as dowry.

Two new degree courses were introduced by the Achraya N G Ranga Agricultural University. The courses were on Commercial Agriculture and Agri-Business Management and Bachelor of Food Sciences and Technology.
31 persons were injured when a van overturned near Laveru mandal in Srikakulam.
Andhra's Chess genius Koneru Humpy has set a new World Record by becoming the World's youngest Grandmaster beating Peter Luckas of Hungary. Humpy is 15 years, one month and 27 days when she achieved this distinction.
Jahangir, a 27 aged person died in Hyderabad. Jahangir is an AIDS patient.
