EAMCET 2002 Results announced

The EAMCET 2002 results were released today by Minister for Technical Education, Mr. M Damodar Reddy at the JNTU campus, Masab Tank.For the first time the Results were released along with the marks. The final key to the questions was also released by Mr. Damodar Reddy. In the engineering stream, a total of 1,49,850 students who appeared for the examination, 1,25,147 qualified. Among these, 88,466 are boys and 36,681 girls.

Intermediate First Year Examination Results 2002 announced

The results of the first year Intermediate Public Examinations 2002 were released by Principal Secretary Mr. G Sudheer. According to him, in all 5,27,676 candidates appeared in the examinations out of which 1,76,891 candidates passed and the overall percentage is 33.52. Girls fared better at 37.34 per cent than boys at 31.04 per cent. Results of 361 candidates have been kept under withheld list for want of information from colleges. For the vocational courses, 16,320 candidates appeared out of which 7,865 passed. The Board will be supplying photo-copy of the valued answer scripts on payment of Rs. 600 per paper and revaluation of the valued answer script on payment of Rs. 1,000 per paper. This is in addition to the already existing recounting facility for Rs. 100 per paper. Applications could be obtained from RIOs' offices or principals of junior colleges on payment of Rs. 2 per application.

5 killed in an accident

Five persons were killed and 38 injured in an accident involving a Tamil Nadu RTC bus and a container service near Nellore. The Gudur DSP and others made necessary relief arrangements. The Superintendent of Police, Mr. KV Reddy visited the spot and enquired about the injured.
