CM meets PM in Delhi
Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu met the Prime Minister Sri AB Vajpey in New Delhi. Both discussed with each other for about an hour and a half and the details of their discussions were not reveled. Speaking with the press after the talk, CM said that they have 'disused on various issues'. And asked whether they talked on the Gujarat issue, he said that 'they (TDP) has already shown their indifference'.
Drug racket unearthed in Rangareddy
Officials of the Central Intelligence raided on an old fort in Bhaseerabugh in Rangareddy and unearthed a drugs manufacture racket. Avout Rs. 10 Crores worth Tablets and other drugs were recovered from the site. This is one of the biggest racket unearthed in India.
Intermediate results announced - Success rate poor
The Results of the Intermediate Examinations were released by Minister Sri Mandava Venkateswara Rao. The Success rate of the examinations dropped down even tough the number of First classes is high. Only 47.01% students who appeared for the exams passed compared to the 49% reported last year. 4,09,639 students appeared as Regular students and of them only 1,92,580 passed. In the Private category, 1,48,561 appeared and a mere 29,746 passed. Mr. Russel Kondaveeti (984 marks) stood at the top followed by Mr. R Venkatesh (983), B Deepthi (983), P Ravichandar Babu (982), K Sivakrishna (982) all from MPC Group.
New Rules for Inter exams
The Board of Intermediate Studies said that it will be providing photo copies of the answer scripts at a cost of Rs. 600 per script and that the student can opt for revaluation at a cost of Rs. 1000 per paper. Another modification made to the existing system is that the student can appear for Advanced Supplementary Examinations irrespective on the number of papers in which he failed.
DSC Exams for over 35, 805 posts announced
Minister for Primary Education Sri Mandava Venkateswara Rao released the schedule for the next DSC Examinations. This time, the Government has over 35,805 posts. The last date for the receipt of filled in applications is May 31. Hall Ticket distribution will begin on June 12, Written exam in 24,25, and 27. The Exam key will be released on June 28 and Counseling sessions will begin from July 26 and continue till July 30.
Heat waves sweep city
Over 16 persons died in the state due to the immense heats that swept the region. Rajahmundry reported 49 degrees which stands to be the hottest day in India. Vijayawada reported 45 degrees which is the highest since 1960.
