Congress & MIM stages walkout

Congress, MIM and CPM staged a walkout from the Assembly saying that the electoral procedure of the Deputy Mayor of the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad was done in an unfair means. However, TDP said that no such irregularities were made and asked why the parties have not raised this issue when the elections were going. It suggested the parties to go to a court if it requires in regard to the electoral procedure and asked not waste the assembly time.

State Government considers modernisation of Police laws

Home Minister Sri Devendar Goud said that the Government has a proposal on merging of Minor and Major Police acts will be merged to bring a new unified system for Rural and Urban Police Laws replying to a question raised during the Question and Answer hour in the Assembly. He said that the Government is considering the deletion of unwanted provisions and implementation on some new acts to fight against other latest crimes such as Cyber crimes.

Mr. Annam Vivekananda Reddy of Congress said that the crime rate was going on increasing and that Co-operative banks and chit fund crimes were on raise. MLA Mr. K Accham Naidu (TDP) said that some SI's were not able to take affective steps in dealing with situations and were themselves committing mistakes.

Krushi Dairy Hospital performs rare surgery

Krushi Dairy Hospital in Visakhapatnam performed a rare surgery in which a cut hand of a jute cutter was being reattached successfully. A Team of Doctors including Dr PRK Prasad, Dr Sathish Kumar, Dr GM Srinuvas and Dr GTV Ravi Kumar and Ramesh Kumar performed the surgery in 10 hours time. Speaking at a press conference, the Doctors said that this type of reattachment of an external human part can be done if the patient is being treated within 6 hours of the accident if the seperated part is stored in a plastic container and stored in ice block.

All arrangements for SSC Examinations completed - says Minister

Minister for Education Mr. Mandava Venkateswara Rao said that all arrangements for SSC Examinations were completed. He said that strict action will be taken on any employee who is involved in any misappropriations in regard to the exams and that necessary orders were sent to all District Collectors and SP's in the state. As many as 9.5 Lakh students were writing their SSC exams this year. 277 centers were identified as problematic centers and necessary security arrangements were made. 141 flying squads were deployed and that expected pass rate was put at 71%. The Results of the examinations are expected to be released by April end. Minister said that hall tickets were already distributed and that Stationery and confidential material of the exams were distributed to all districts.

NOC made compulsary for all new Engineering Colleges - says AICTE Chairman

Chairman of AICTE Prof. R Natarajan said that no new Engineering and MCA Colleges will be allowed to conduct courses if they fail to submit No Objection Certificate (NOC) both from the State Government and the University. He said that AICTE has extended the 18 month M.Tech course for 2 years and that it is redesigning engineering course syllabus according to international needs.

Depositors begins worring at their investments in Prudential Bank

Hundreds of depositors of Prudential Bank in Hyderabad began withdrawing money from their accounts when an misleading news was raised in the public that the bank has some misappropriations. The Chairman of the Bank confirmed that the bank was safe and that the depositors need not worry for their investments. Reports say that a news item in a daily made people to worry about their investments in the bank.
