The Chief Ministers of West Bengal and Tripura met the Andhra Pradesh counter part Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu and discussed on issues of mutual interest.
Congress and CPM demanded House committee into verification of Government plans on privatization move of Co-Operative, Sugar and Spinning mills in the state. The TDP however did not agree for the demand. CPM walked out of the assembly and the proceedings were later postponed. CLP Leader Dr. Rajasekhar Reddy suggested that the house committee could be used to identify other avenues to come out of the situation. Minister Sri Yenamala Ramakrishnudu said that setting up a house committee will not be of much use and there are many financial and technical difficulties which led to this definition for the Government.
Transco said that it will intensify its operations to stop illegal use of electricity in the state and that cases will be filed against any one at any level if they are indulged in this type of activity. Transco Chief Durga Prasad said that they created a computer program to detect the areas where illegal use of electricity and that training program on this to the officers will start from April 1st. He said that Energy Audit will be done at Village Levels.
