About 500 seed companies and seed farmers joined hands to stop child labour. The International Labour Organisation Project Manager MP Joseph handed over a cheque for Rs. 9.52 Lakhs to Mr. Murari Rao, President of CEASE.
One farmer Mr. Muthyuala Laxminarayana (42) committed suicide in Salakamcheruvu village by consuming pesticide. He has a loan with a local bank for Rs. 80,000 and another of Rs. 1.2 Lakhs from money lenders which, he was unable to pay due to failure of his ground nut and paddy crop spread in 1.5 acres of land.
The Election for the 6 seats of Rajya Sabha will be filled by the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly on March 27. A notification in this regard was released by the Election Commission.
The 9 Left Parties of the state has marked March 6 to be the day to stage dharna at all district headquarters condemning the torching of the Sabarmati Express and killing of Kar Sevaks traveling in the train.
The last date for the receiving of the applications for EAMCET 2002 was extended to March 4 (i.e Monday).
