The 3-member committee setup to investigate whether or not the Film Actress Pratyusha's death was due to suicide. The Committee felt that the report of the Post Mortem Report from the Doctor would be wrong. Dr. Munuswamy who conducted the postmortem however said that he is not wrong. He asked the Police to give Original Case sheet and Photo Negatives.

AIDWA in Hyderabad demanded an enquiry by CBI in regard to death of Film Actress Pratyusha a there was no clarity in the statements and reports.

State Congress Leaders expressed happiness at the selection of Sri T Subbirama Reddy and Sri Nandi Yelliah for Rajya Sabha seat from the state. They said that Sri N Yelliah's selection showed that importance to ST's was given.
Police sources said that the total number of Naxals who were killed in yesterday's encounter is at 8. Swarnakka was also among those who were dead. 3 SLR, Rifles and other heavy ammunition. 6 Naxals are believed to have escaped.
District Collector Mr. Sarma said that the Rs. 150 Crore was allocated for the expansion works of the Airport in Visakhapatnam. He said that Tenders for the work are yet to be called and that the necessary land is taken from Visakhapatnam Port Trust at Bheemunipatnam.
4 students drowned in River Krishna while taking bath. The students were Srikanth, Krishna, Lokeswar Reddy and Nagaraju. The reasons for the death are yet to be known.
Pradesh Congress Committee President Mr. M Satyanaryana Rao said that the recent encounter proved that Police were not interested in discussions with the Naxalities.
Revenue Association said that they will continue their strikes till March 23, 2002 demanding the appointment of Special Secretaries in the state.
Lakhs of Devotees observed today as Shiva Rathri. All Shiva Temples in the state were beautifully decorated and special prayers were offered to the Lord. Devotees in large numbers attended pooja as Sri Sailam, Sri Kalahasti, Lepakshi and at Amaravati.
