Negotiations begins
The Negotiations between the People's War Group Emissaries and the Governement Representatives began. The Minister for Commercial Taxes, Mr. K. Vijayarama Rao and the Minister for Excise, Mr. T Seetaram sat with the PWG emissaries - Varavara Rao and Gaddar for about two and a half hours in Vijayarama Rao's cabinet and exchanged their views. They decided to meet again at 9:30 a.m. on June 9. Speaking to the press, Mr. Vijayarama Rao said that the talks were frank.
ECET Results announced
Minister for Technical Education, Sri M Damodar Reddy released the results of EDCET(FDH) 2002 being conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technology University(JNTU), Hyderabad. 92% of the 15,275 students who appeared for the exams qualified. 18.5 % of those who were qualified were from the Scheduled Castes and 3.7% from the Scheduled Tribes. 21.6% of those who qualified were girls.
As many as 26 extremist surrender before the police in Karimnagar. The list included 9 naxlites from the People's War Group, 14 from the Janashakti group, 2 from Prathigatana group and on from Jana Natya Mandali.
