300 acres of land allocated to Phase II of Bio-Technology Park
State Industries Secretary Mr. BP Acharya said that the State Government has allocated 300 acres of land towards the Phase II of Bio Tech Park and that development works of Knowledge Park were going well. He said that Jeevanpuri Township was being developed during for the facility of the employees.
EAMCET 2002 Engineering counselling begins
Counselling for Admissions into Engineering Colleges in the state through EAMCET 2002 began today at 5 centers in the state. Minister for Technical Education - Sri Damodar Reddy inaugurated the counselling process at JNTU, Hyderabad. Three Communication systems were installed as a back source incase of any failure. The Counselling sessions also began at Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Warangal, Hyderabad and Tirupati Centers. The modern Computer and Communication networks were procured at a cost of Rs. 2.3 Crores. This years new courses included over 600 seats in Bio-Technology though Electronics and Communication Engineering remained favorite. JNTU colleges at Hyderabad, Anantapur and Kakinada will have an additional of 50 seats in Computer Sciences and Engineering branch.
ISDN exchange at Andhra Sub Area Signal Company Complex
A new ISDN Exchange was inaugurated by Subhash Chander - Chief Signal Officer of the Southern Command at the Andhra Sub Area Signal Company complex at Bolarum in Hyderabad. The exchange was constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.44 Crores.
Vice Chairman attacks MDO
The Vice-Chairman of Rajupalem - Mr. Venkatasbbaiah stabbed Mandal Development Officer of Kaalsapadu - Mahabub Sahed with knives. Mr. Sahed sustained injuries on his nose and hands. District Collector of Cuddapah Mr. K Chandramouli directred SP Mr. P Muniswamy to immediately arrest those involved in the attack.
Enquiry by CBCID was ordered into the leakage of first year Engineering Examination being conducted by JNTU.
Congress demanded the Central Government to consider projects being taken up in the Telangana area to be Nation Projects.
Naxals of the People's War Group were back on their track with the blast of CPI Leader - Mr. Pakalapati Venkateswar Rao's house at Bhupatiraopet of Khammam.
