BJP dharnas for withdrawl of water tax hike
BJP staged a dharna today in Hyderabad demanding for the immediate withdrawal of hiked Water tax. BjP Leader Mr. Chintala Ramachandra Reddy commented that even when the Central Government has sanctioned Rs. 1 Crore to meet the works of transfer of Krishna river water to Hyderabad about a year back.
IBP signs MoU with AP Tourism
Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu said that the Government of Andhra Pradesh is considering introduction of less-pollution causing LPG-gas as fuel to vehicles. He requested Oil Companies to make arrangements for LPG filling stations accordingly. He was present at the meeting held in which Oil gaint - IBP and AP Tourism signed arrestment MoU. As a part of this 1-year agreement, IBP will be building International class Huts, Restaurant, Dormitories and other facilities so as to attract tourists. Rs. 20 Crores will be spent towards this.
AP Government on track for Integrated Cotton Management Program
Minister for Agriculture Mr. Vadde Sobhanadreswara Rao said that the Andhra Pradesh Government was thinking of implementation of Integrated Cotton Management Program and that talks with the Cotton Corporation of India already began towards this. The program is expected to give better produce to cotton farmers who were facing acute difficulties with their crops not yielding profitable money even for livelihood.
TRS Leader Sri R Chandrasekhara Rao said that TDP was following wrong path and was distributing cheques so as to lure voters in Medak. He asked the Lok Satta to come forward and check into the issue. He also asked the Election Commission to look into the issue.
About Rs. 31.83 Lakhs worth rice and other commodities being stocked by millers illegally were seized in a raid conducted.
Skins of five Spotted Deers were recovered in Khammam district. The Deer's were believed to be killed by timber smugglers or poachers by installing powerful traps.
Cultural Exchange was always at first from Andhra Pradesh. As a part of this, the Israeli Film Festival began at the Hyderabad Film Club in Hyderabad. The inauguration of the festival was done by the First Secretary of Israeli Embassy Mr. Yaron Mayer.
