An Ad designed by Film Star Chiranjeevi for the International Labor Organisation was released today. Speaking at the press conference, he said that he acted in the Ad so as to bring social awareness on Child Education and for the abolition of child labor.
Chief Minister Sri N Chandrababu Naidu said that plans are made to see that the Neeru Meeru programme is continued for the next 4 years and this allows conservation of over 80% of currently wasted water resources. He took part at a seminar at NRSA. Speaking at the programme, Union Minister Sri Venkiah Naidu said that some elements are against reforms and are raising slogans - 'World Bank go back' and the like and that this is not positive. He said that reforms are intended to development and that the Union Government will extend all its facilities for the development of the state.
Chief Minister Sri N Chandrababu Naidu said that 10-day Janmabhoomi Programme was a great success and that this is evident with the participation of people in large numbers. He said that many regional problems were being highlighted and that planning towards this will be done and that they will be solved in due course. He said a training institute will be setup shortly to teach Government personnel on effective planning and organizing the Janmabhoomi program.
Andhra Pradesh Government instituted AP First for the development of Information Technology in the state. The company will be providing information to companies who wish to set up IT companies in Andhra Pradesh. The institute was inaugurated by Minister Sri K Vijaya Raman Rao and 7 companies initially signed up MoU's. Mr. Ranadeep Sudha will be the CEO of the institute.
A sugarcane farmer from Bapulapadu Mandal of Vijayawada committed suicide by taking pesticides after increased harassment from creditors. The Hanuman Cooperative Sugar Factor has to pay him Rs. 2 Lakhs for the sugarcane supplies he made during 1999-2000.
The results of the recently held LAWCET 2002 were released by R Madhavi - Vice Chancellor of Sri Padmavati Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam in Tirupati. Of the 11764 candidates who appeared for 3-year programme, 8627 qualified while out of the 2819 candidates who appeared for the 5-year programme, 2172 qualified. The overall qualifying rate is at 70%.
