17th Janmabhoomi Mahila and Ruthu Janmabhoomi program begins

The 17th Janmabhoomi Mahila and Ruthu Janmabhoomi program began. Chief Minister Sri N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the Velugu Padakam and promised to complete Venugonda project as promised earlier. He inaugurated the program at Podilli Villag in Prakasam. However, Congress activists questioned the Chief Minister on the Food for Work program and tried to disrupt the proceedings.

Gaddar and Varahala Rao ready to be mediators

At the request of the People's War Group, Gaddar and Varahala Rao said that they are ready to act as mediators in talks with the Group. However, they gave some suggestions to the Government in which they felt that the talks should be held in public and not inside four wall of a room. Speaking at the Press conference, Varahala Rao felt that police should not be involved in talks with Naxal group. Home Minister Sri Devendar Goud said that the Government will take a decision and announce its representatives in two days.

Hyderabad Police unfolds a fake visa gang

Additional Commissioner Mr. AK Khan said that Hyderabad Police has unfolded a gang involved in taking fake photographs using computer technology and getting Depending Passport and Visa (H1) using from US Consulate. He said that the majority of them who took such VISA's were Gujaratis and that Rs. 10-18 Lakhs of Cash used to be transferred in each successful deal. The Police felt that there may be more people involved in this type of dealing and that investigation is on.

Union Minister Sri Ch Vidyasagar Rao felt sorry at the missing of 'thanking Prime Minister' in the Mahanadu meet. He said that having got grants and funds through various programs, it seems that TDP was only aimed at getting more and more funds. He recommended for an all-party meeting on AIDS. Speaking on the recent developments from the People's War Group, he said that the Center has not object with Government's meeting with PWG and said they will be happy if it comes out to be successful.
8 persons including a newly married couple died when a small boat in which they were traveling across River Krishna in Rentachintala village of Guntur District overturned. The incident occurred at about 10:30 AM in the morning hours.
As many as 33 students were debarred from the SSC Advanced Supplementary examinations. 13 students were caught doing malpractice in Medak according to a report by Examinations Division Director Ravindranath.
