PWG representatives steps out of talks
Representatives of the People's War Group for talks with the Government of Andhra Pradesh - Mr. Gaddar and Mr. Varavara Rao said that they are withdrawing from the representation following the Government's non-stop encounters at various places in the state despite coming for peace talks. The two leaders sat with the Government for talks for three rounds without going much forward. Pradesh Congress Party President Sri M Satyanarayana Rao asked the People's War Group not to stop their talks and said that peace is possible only when Naxals come forward.

The state remained in dark for two to four hours with a glitch in the operations at the Simhadri Thermal Power Project at Visakhapatnam. The problem became much bigger with the power production at Srisailam Hydel Power Station coming to a temporary halt.

Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu inspected the files of the Panchayat Department at the Secretariat.

The District Co-Operative Central Banks of Krishna and Eluru won the first and second prizes for best performance in co-operative credit institutions for 2001-02.

Mr. H Lajipathi Rai was re-appointed as the Director of AP Study Circle for Backward Classes for a further 2 year tenure.
