Ms. Karanam Uma Devi wins Medak Assembly seat
TDP Candidate for the Medak Assembly constituency and wife of former Minister Sri Karanam Ramachandra Rao - Ms. Karanam Uma Devi won the election beating her nearest rival from Congress with a margin of 6000 votes. With use of Electronic voting machines, the results were announced in just 2 hrs time. Good fight in votes was visible between the TDP, Congress and TRS candidates during the first round.

PCC President Sri M Satyanarayana Rao said that even though the Congress candidate lost the election, the result was a positive one for the congress since the election has reduced the margin between TDP and Congress votes considerably.

Dr K Laxman, Spokesman of BJP said in Hyderabad that the state unit of the Party was happy at the win of Telugu Desam Party candidate in Medak for the Medak Assembly segment.

Police Officers Meet of Southern Railway began at Hyderabad. Police and authorities were discussion on better ways of protecting passengers from thieves and decoits. Additional General Manager who was present at the meet said that the number of thefts in Railways has decreased over the last years and asked the Civil Police, General Railway Police and Railway Protection Force to work united when solving cases.

The 105th Anniversary of Sri Alluri Seetarama Raju was observed by the Alluri Trust in Hyderabad. The Trust requested the Government to identify Krishnadevi Peta - where the Samadhi of Sri Alluri was located - as a tourism spot. A photo exhibition in this regard was organised.

APSRTC Employees Union celebrates Golden Jubliee
APSRTC Employees Union celebrated its Golden Jubliee in Hyderabad. Home Minister Sri Devendar Goud said that RTC Union was a strong and united one and asked it to come out with better ways of serving the public. PCC President Sri M Satyanarayana Rao said that he was close with the Union and said that he was active member of the Union earlier. Senior Leaders including Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy and others were present at the meeting.

DGP Mr. Pervaram Ramulu said that Naxals moving with weapons will not be leaved. He asked them to come out and join the public and suggested that they cannot go forward by holding weaponry.

The Assembly Sessions of the Andhra Pradesh Legislature will by held between July 15 - 26, 2002.
