New Transfer policy for Government Employees - CM
Chief Minister Sri N Chandrababu Naidu said that the State Government is coming up with a new policy in regard to transfer of Government employees. He said that new recruitments are of no use as the existing employees including Doctors and Engineers were 'dodging' and not joining in their duties. He took part in the valedictory function of the 2-day Collectors Conference held at the HRD Institute at Hyderabad. CM also released a newsletter on the Neeru-Meeru program in English and Telugu versions.

34 persons were convicted with life time imprisonment for their involvement in the murder of four persons in Chinduku area in Kurnool district.

Naxals of the Peoples War Group tried to attack on the Mandal President of Chityala in Warangal. A teacher - Mr. Nagesh who was passing by had a severe injury when a bullet when through his skull. He was admitted to the hospital and was in severe condition.

Railway Police of Vijayawada took a thief into custody and recovered Rs. 6 Lakhs worth jeweler, 2 cell phones and some cash. The thief committed over 13 dacoits in trains in the last 2 months time.

3 persons including drivers of two lorries died on the spot in a major road accident in Nellore in which the lorries collided head on.

Employees of Dental Colleges and Hospitals in Vijayawada staged a rally demanding for payment of salaries for the last 11 months. The rally was supported by AITUC.

Mrs. Rama Ratnam Memorial Ball Badminton for girls began at Visakhapatnam today.

New Judges sworn
Chief Justice of High Court Justice AR Lakshmanan administered the oath to newly elected Judges MS Narayana, G Rohini, T Gopala Krishna, M Narasimha Reddy in Hyderabad.
