CM promises 100% literacy in the state within 5 years
Chief Minister Sri N Chandrababu Naidu said that the State Government is committed for bringing 100% literacy in next 5 years. He said that people should be more knowledgeable and education towards this has to be provided. He said that poverty and child labour have to be put on hold. He said that Mass admission programs will be taken up to bring children back to schools. This program will be implemented between August 2 to 12 in all districts of the state.

Japanese grants for two NGO's
The Japanese Government has issued grants to two Andhra Pradesh based NGO's under their 'Grants Assistance for Grassroots Projects' scheme. According to the press released issued by the Consulate General of Japan, Laya and Bapuji Rural Enlightenment and Development Society have been selected for GGP this year.

Increased Upper Age limit for Govt. Jobs
The State Government has increased the upper age limit for Government jobs by five years. According to Minister for Finance and Legislative Affairs, Mr. Yanamala Ramakrishnudu the age limit has been increased in response to representations from unemployed youth. The new upper age limit is valid for all categories of services and Rule 12 of the A.P. State and Subordinate Services Rules will be suitably amended.

Dr. YS Rajasekhar Reddy questioned about Government's strategy for holding elections to co-operative societies. The Minister responded saying that the same will be taken up 3 to 4 months time.

Mediator between the Government and People's War Group peace talks that Sri Gaddar said that Government has to take complete responsibility for the recent killing of Police constables by the PWG in Guntur. He said that if Government has respected that step of the PWG who themselves came forward, this would not have occurred. He asked the Government to rethink about the issue and asked the Chief Minister to consider immediate stopping of combing operations.
