Legislature agrees for continuation of Food for Work program
The Andhra Pradesh State Legislature passed a resolution to extend Food for work program to overcome the drought situation in the state. A discussion on the issue was held in the Assembly in which Chief Minister promised that all those involved in corruption were punished. He said that over 99 State Government employees were suspended and action was awaited on 7 more. He said that the program was giving good results and thus prompted for the continuation of the program.

Congress, Maglis and CPM walked out of the assembly following the Government not listening to their vows on the program.

Ministers Sri P Ashok Gajupatiraju and Md. Farooq passed 2 new resolutions later.

The Legislature spent over 2 hours discussing on getting more investments to the state. Minister K Vidyasagar Rao said that the position of state is fine in attracting foreign investments

PJR's primary membership at AICC cancelled
The AICC has suspended Mr. P Janardhan Reddy from the primary membership of the Party. This was action was taken due to the action of Mr. Janardhan Reddy and his supporters at the Airport when Congress members went to receive AICC General Secretary Mr. Vayalar Ravi. Mr. P Janardhan Reddy happens to be former Minister and an active Congress leader from Andhra Pradesh. A letter to this effect was sent to the Gandhi Bhawan - the home of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee stating that the suspension was a disciplinary action. The decission was taken by the Party President Ms. Sonia Gandhi after talking to Mr. Vayalr Ravi for over an hour.

Film Actress Ms. Gajala attempted suicide taking an overdose of sleeping tablets last night. She was admitted in NIMS hospital. Police said that she might felt depressed and attempted suicide and that her condition is now fine.

The Telangana Rastra Samithi President Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao said the speech of V Ravi tells us how much Congress is interested on the Telangana statehood. He suggested that the Telangana Congress Leaders should come out of the party.

Student from various Unions observed bandh at the premises of Sri Venkateswara University. The Students boycotted classes and staged 'Rasta Roko' at the road that leads to Bangalore.

Rs. 100 Crores loan to Visakhapatnam Steel Plant
The Canara Bank, Steel Plant Branch announced a loan for Rs. 100 Crores to Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. VSP will be using this fund to clear its already existing loan with Union Bank of India.
