State incharge of AICC Mr. Ravi visits Hyderabad
Senior AICC Congressman and state-activities in charge Mr. V Ravi came to Hyderabad today. He was warmly received by the State Congress at the Airport.

Speaking at a press meet, he clarified that his visit to the state was not for a change in the PCC leadership and that he did not receive such requests. He said that the same will be taken into account but not at this point of time. He said that the Party is strong and united and has no group politics. He said that he will visit the state frequently and that this does not mean that the Party is to change the leadership at the state level. He said that there was indeed a need for declaring statehood for Telangana but not at this time. He said that some Congress MLA's and MP's have met him in this regard for which he suggested them for the right time to come

Mr. Ravi also felt that it is not difficult for the State Government to provide free power and reminded that Kerala was providing free power to the segment that uses it less.

He commented that Janmabhoomi program was a big waste of money. However, Mr. Ravi's visit remained soar will supporters of PJR raising slogans. A show cause notice was issued to PJR in this regard. He organised an Office bearers meeting which made a list of 16 points which included issues including the pending projects, sale of Nizam Sugar factor and President's rule in Gujarat.

Govt. lost chance to give permanent solution with PWG - says Left Parties
CPI and other Left Parties said that it is Government who is responsible for bringing about a permanent solution with the Naxals and asked for immediate initiation of the same. Mr. Raghavulu felt that the Government made a mistake by not utilizing the opportunity from the PWG's call. He said that when combing operations and encounters were taking place in the PWG-prone areas, how come they come forward for talks.

Chief Minister Sri N Chandrababu Naidu hinted that the Government is thinking of privatising Bandar Port. He visited various Government offices in the area and monitored files. He also took part in the Clean and Green program

6 people including Mr. Dinesh Patwal, his wife and children died in a car accident at Chennai - Calcutta National Highway near Nellore. They are on their way to Tirupati.

New trust of Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam takes oath
Mr. Chalapathi Rao took over as the new Chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam. Trust Members also took oath today. In a related development, BHEL delivered the new chariot (ratham) of Lord Sri Venkateswara. BHEL, 25 years ago built the currently used chariot which was used till now with some minor modifications. The new ratham was built using modern technologies including the usage of Hydraulic breaking system and a re-designed wheel.
