Assembly sessions begins
The State Assembly met at the Legislature with the beginning of Assembly sessions. The Assembly paid homage to Sri Karanam Ramachandra Rao. The Assembly sessions are likely to be conducted till July 27.

A Power theft case was registered against former Congress MLA - Mr. D K Bharatsimha Reddy under Section 39 of Indian Electricity Act.

The State Cabinet was back on war-footing track by deciding to bring out a fresh ban on the People's War Group.

25% of Intermediate marks to be taken as weightage for EAMCET
The State Government of Andhra Pradesh is in considerations for taking 25% marks from Intermediate in EAMCET as weightage. Marks from Practicals and Theory are expected to be separately counted. A special note from the Government is yet to be issued.

Member of Parliament from Bikkanoor of Nizamabad - Mr. Muduganti Gopal Reddy died in a road accident near Antampalle National highway. He was elected MP from Nizamabad for three times in 1971, 1977 and 1979 besides being elected as MLA as an independent candidate.

A fire accident in Kakinada left 300 houses of Lakshmi Nagar and Sameer Nagar into ashes and brought a loss of Rs. 30 Lakhs of property leaving 500 homeless. The accident happened when one women tried to commit suicide by pouring kerosene over her and her fire caught houses nearby.
