Bandh called by PWG held peacefully
Bandh called by the People's War Group was widely visible in Warangal. This was clearly evident at Naxal effected areas of the district particularly at the rural. RTC buses were off and Government offices were closed. School going children got a holiday while business establishments remained closed for fear of attack from the Naxals. Police were seen asking shop keepers for opening of shops but were in vein before the fear among the business community.

Meanwhile, a naxal Ms. Swaroopa was arrested in Karimnagar. Bandh was also evident at the home town of Swarnakka - the Jammigutta village. Ananatapur also remained to be prone to the bandh but the agency areas of Visakhapatnam haven't seen much effect.

Cpt. Lakshmi Sehgal in Hyderabad
Presidential Candidate of the Left Parties - Capt. Lakshmi Sehgal visited Hyderabad to participate in a publicity campaign. She said that Mr. Chandrababu Naidu would have commented that he 'does not know' her. She suggested Mr. Babu to spend for two hours on the web and that he can come to know about Aazad Hind Fauz.

RTC Workers Union called for a state wide relay huger strikes demanding the Government to immediately implement the promises it made earlier.

A review meet on PMRY was held at Visakhapatnam. Commissioner Mr PS Appa Rao asked the members to concentrate more on loan recoveries.

State level boxing training program for women began at Visakhapatnam today. The camp was inaugurated by District Collector Mr. Sunil Sharma and will be held till 10th of next month.

The District administration was just a report away to arrest Tingaturthi constituency MLA and Former Minister Mr. R Damodar Reddy in Nalgonda. It may be recalled that a powerful bomb blast took place in his residence quiet some time back. 4 people were injured in the blast.

Meanwhile, Pradesh Congress Committee President Sri M Satyanarayana Rao asked for a perfect investigation in the incident and asked Telugu Desam Party to stop commenting unnecessarily. He said that they were trying to defame the MLA.

NSUI demands for recall for AU VC
National Students Union of India demanded for the recall of Vice Chancellor of Andhra University for not conducting EdCET 2002 Examinations in a proper manner. They staged a dharna in Hyderabad.

All districts in the state observed the World Population Day today. Janashikshana Sansthan of Vijaywada has organised a seminar in which experts felt the need of awareness can lead to the control of population. Health and Education Departments organised rallies by children who held placards trying to awoke the society on the problems of increased population.

Mr. Cheraku Mutyam Reddy rejected the post of Chairmanship of APSRTC Board.

EAMCET authorities said that the counselling sessions till 25,000 ranks were competed by 11 July 2002.

Police restored to slight lathi charge at the Admissions of AUCET 2002. Some students were finding the implementation of vertical system being introduced by the University.
