2 naxals killed in an encounter near Renugunta
2 naxals were killed in an encounter between the Police forces and Naxals at Regunta area. Police were at the area to hold a ‘grama sabha’ when the naxals came to raise funds. 2 guns and revolutionary literature were recovered from them.

Students of various Government schools staged a dharna with placards at Vijaywada sub collector office and at Tirupati under the leadership of AISF and NSUI. They took a procession and demanded the Municipal Corporation for fair mess charges.

Director of Marketing Department Mr. Manohar felt that Rythu Bazaars were working like cess recovery centers and not really looking into the needs of the farmers. He said that Departmental action will be taken against any one who fail to do their duties at the markets.

A Seminar on Visakhapatnam - Vision 2020 was held at the Andhra University School of Economics. Experts from Municipal Corporation, VUDA, Police and other departments of the districts came forward to discuss on planning and taking up of development activities in the area.

Over 50 houses went to ashes when a fire broke in one of the houses in a Dalit area in Guntur.

Tourism Minister Sri Talasani Srinuvasa Yadav inaugurated the newly constituted Universal Access Number Service of the AP Tourism from his office at the Secretariat by dialing to the operators. The new service will allow AP Tourism to answer to queries from tourists across the country.

Managing Director of SAAP Mr. Subrahmanyam visited the VUDA Park in Visakhapatnam and monitored the place selected for the International Tennis Court.

Edupungati Satyanarayana, publicity secretary of TDP for Vijayawada was hacked to death by two unidentified persons near the Bandar Locks. The murderers attacked him and killed him with knives in broad daylight at around 9 a.m. Satyanarayana is a close follower of the Agriculture Minister Vadde Sobhanadeswara Rao.
