State Cabinet takes crutial decisions - All party meeting on 12th to discuss on PWG
The State Cabinet met today to discuss on various important topics. The Cabinet decided to take a decision on Peoples War Group after taking with various political parties. A All-party meet will be held on 12th Feb 2002 to discuss on the issue. The Cabinet also decided to give a subsidy upto 5% to Co-Operative banks who provide loans for Kharif season farmer. The Cabinet also finalized the IT Policy of the state and the establishment of more Special Economic Zones in the state. About 11 Medical Colleges and 12 Dental Colleges will be given Essential certificate and a notification in regard to this is expected to be released shortly.
CM to make foreign trip
Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu will be leaving for a trip to foreign countries to study on various developments in countries like Ireland, United States of America etc. He will be leaving Hyderabad on Jan 30, 2002.
One person was arrested in Hyderabad for shouting in a Dubai-bound Airplane against India and in favor of Bin Laden.
Home Minister Sri Devendar Goud inaugurated Retreat 2001 in Hyderabad. Speaking on the occasion, Minister said that the Government is considering the restructuring of the police department including the CID. He said that Police has to be provided more training in dealing with Cyber crimes and crimes committed by Financial institutions.
Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the Andhra Pradesh Olympic building at Hyderabad. The building also provides accommodation to players. The building was constructed for the State Olympic committee at a cost of 1 crore rupees.
National Olympic committee president Mr. Suresh Kalmadi and members of other Sports committees participated in the function.
Noted Social worker Mr. Anna Hazare inaugurated the All India WUAs Convention in Vijayawada. Over 100 delegates from various states participated in the meet. He felt the need of installation of metres to avoid wastage of valuable water.
A Workshop on Protection of Children Rights was held in Mahaboobnagar. The Workshop was conducted by the district police department of Mahaboobnagar. Senior officials and other staff and children took part in the workshop.
Minister Mr. Dandu Sivarama Raju started various development works at Attilli of West Godavari district. As a part of the development programmes he distributed gas connections to women under "Deepam" scheme. Checks and other material were given to 26 women groups on the occasion.
President of National Olympic committee president Mr. Suresh Kalmadi expressed satisfaction on the constructions of various stadiums that host the national games in Hyderabad.
The District Inter college sports competitions started at Gopalapuram mandal of West Godavari district. Students from 240 mandals are participating in the competitions.
Minister Mr. Karanam Ramachandra Rao inaugurated the sports meet.
