Convocation of Sri Krishna Devaraya University held
Govt. to put pressure on Center for Road projects in state
Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao released the Government's strategy for development of basic road infrastructure of the state. He said that the State Government will bring about pressure on the Centre for increasing the road networks in the state and for development of Highways. He said that the Government will concentrate on Golden Corridor that connects the metros and link between Vijayawada and Hyderabad. He hinted that the Toll Taxes would be increased and that the Government will welcome participation from the private sector. Minister said that private vendors who come with latest technologies and designs will be welcome.

Spot billing facility for farmers
Minister for Power, Sri K Subba Raidu and Sri Uma Madhava Reddy made visit to various ares in Nalgonda today. Farmers in the areas said that there was no 9-hour power supply in the areas as promised and that the power was given to local granite factories. They also brought cases of excess bill to the Minister who said that spot billing system will be introduced soon to get rid of such problems.

TDP failed to bring foreign investments - says YSR
CLP Leader Mr. YS Rajasekhar Reddy said that the Government has become bankrupt during the rule of the Telugu Desam Party headed by Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu. He asked about the increasing revenue deficit and asked on what steps the state government took to come out of the situation. He questioned why the Government failed to bring foreign investments despite top leaders making talks with foreign investors and visiting foreign countries.

Bomb hoax for Godavari Express
Godavari Express began one hour late from the Visakhapatnam Railway Station following a foax call that there was bomb in the AC Coach of the train. Bomb Detection and Disposition Team and Dog Squad immediately went into action only to find that there was no such bomb in the train. Railway Authorities said that it will be implementing Caller Identification system to keep foax calls on hold.

Convocation of Sri Krishna Devaraya University held
The 11th Convocation of the Sri Krishna Devaraya University was held today. Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Chancellor of the University Sri Rangarajan took part in the convocation. He presented gold medals to 70 merit students. Sri Prem Chand was given the honorable Doctorate.

Hyderabad Police announced that the Chairman Mr. G Gnaniah and Manager Mr. Srinuvas Rao of Sravya Urban Co-Operative Bank was arrested. It may be recalled that the bank was in recent news with non payment of deposit money to its customers and the bank was sealed by the police recently. The Case is being investigated by ACP Mr. Mohammed Ismal and Inspector Mr. MA Raoof and found that about Rs. 6.75 Crores of the money was sanctioned to a spurious firm as an advance.

A Division Bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court accepted a contempt case against three IAS officers on a complaint that they have violated the court orders.

Police of Adilabad arrested a Local Guerrilla Squad Member of the Peoples War Group near bheempur village in Nizamabad.

An Audio cassette on Annamaya's Srungara Sankeerthanas by singer D Muralikrishna was released in Hyderabad by Minister for Backward Class Welfare Mr. N Narasimha Rao.

The three-member subcommittee of the Committee of Parliament on Official Languages under the chairmanship of Sri Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad visited and inspected the implementation of official languages at NALCO, RINL of VSP, Bank of Baroda, Central Excise, Income Tax and State Bank of India.
