Look South II seminar begins
Union Minister Mr. Jagmohan said that the Central Government is working on its best to promote tourism in the country in phased manner. He inaugurated a seminar on Look South II - From Concept to Implementation and was the Second International Tourism Conference and Exhibition on South India at Grand Kakatiya Section, Hyderabad.

CPI(M) 17th Congress Invitation Committee meet was held in Hyderabad today. The summit discussed on the various problems in the agriculture sector and state of farmer in the country and Andhra Pradesh in particular. Professor Utsa Pathnaik spoke at the meet and said that Andhra Pradesh Government has been implementing what the World Bank has said and this resulted in the cutting of subsidies to the farmers, power sector reforms which were a hindrance to the farmer. It felt that the dramatic decrease in the agriculture area in the state was a serious problem.

4 farming labour died when a Lorry overturned in Khammam. About 20 more who were injured were shifted to Chintoor hospital.

Minister Mr. Kaidyam Srihari said that the Government has released Rs. 193 Crores for various reservoir projects in the state. He made visits to Kandaleru Reservoir and Somasila Project works in Nellore. He said that the Government will be more focusing on Branch cannel works and see that water is effectively used.
