57 MLA's suspended in Assembly
As many as 57 members of Congress, MIM and CPM parties were suspended for 1 day. Discussions on Power purchases from private companies at a higher rate came to the Assembly today.

The Oppositions asked for clarity in regard to the purchase dealings with the companies and that the Controller and Auditor General report revealed that purchase of power from Spectrum was a loss to the Government. Replying to this, Minister Sri Kotapalle Subbaraidu said that all the dealings on power were done during Congress tenure and that the current Government revamped the dealings.

Congress and CPM Members sat before the podium demanding for an explanation. Speaker Mrs. Prathiba Barathi postponed the proceedings for 10 minutes. The situation continued to be the same even after the 10-minute break. Chief Minister said that TDP is providing better facilities than the Congress Government. CLP Leader Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy said that the Congress Govt. hiked the price for just 10 paisa and that TDP led government has hiked it for over Rs. 1.

Assembly Affairs Minister Yenamala Ramakrishnudu asked for closing of the Assembly for the day. Opposition parties commented that TDP Party is behaving as a dictator in the Assembly.
