Central Government may nod for Textile Park in state
Ramagundam Transmission project inaugurated
Union Minister Sri Suresh P Prabhu said that Commercialization of Power sector is needed to provide fair power prices to the people and collect charges from them. He inaugurated Ramagundam Transmission at Ghatkeswar in Rangareddy district today. Chief Minister Sri N Chandrababu Naidu said that the Government has to pay Rs. 648 Crores to NTPC and Rs. 287 Crores to BSES for generation and transmission of power. This is resulting a unit power cost to be at Rs. 3 and that the Government has to bear the subsidy. Union Minister Sri Bandarudatratreya, State Power Minister Mr. Kotapalle Subbaraidu were also present at the program.

Central Government may nod for Textile Park in state
Union Minister Mr. Danunjay Kumar inaugurated an exhibition on Textile products being setup by National Central for Textile Design at Hyderabad today. Speaking at the program, he said that the Government of India will give approval for the Textile Park in Andhra Pradesh. Chief Minister Sri N Chandrababu Naidu said that Government is drawing plans to come to the rescue of the textile industry.

PCC Spokesman Sri Rosayys said that it is wrong on the TDP Party to say that Congress is not making positive comments and is hindering development works. PCC said that funds of the Governments were allocated to the family friends by Minister Bojjana in Sri Kalahasti.

Workshop on IT Act & Digital Laws held
A Workshop on IT Act & Digital Laws 2000 was held in High Court today. The workshop was inaugurated by Chief Minister. Chief Justice Sri A R Lakshman said that the newly formed IT Act made it easy to enforce law. A presentation on the Indian IT Acts and Laws was presented by Indian Law Institute. State IT Advisor Dr. Hanuman Chowdary was also present at the meet.

CII asks politicians to provide basic infrastructure for state
The Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) State Chapter organized a meet with Politicians and Industrialists in the state in regard to provision of basic infrastructure for the development of the state. CII felt that Open Sky Policy be introduced.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Executive Officer Mr. P Krishnaiah said that additional counters of the Sudarshanam will be opened or additional staff will be deployed to avoid rush in Tirupati and Tirmala and provide better service. He began a mass Clean and Clean program to make Tirumala Hill Plastic-free.

Two farmers committed suicide in Anantapur district due to financial problems that arose after their cotton crop failed. A ex-gratia of Rs. 10,000 was given to their family members. The Congress and the Left Parties has postponed their Bundh program scheduled for Feb 28 to Mar 5 due to entrance exams to students.

AMITY 2002 - the All-India Management Students Conference was organized by the Department of Commerce and Management Studies, Andhra University. The meet was inaugurated by Mr. G Sudhir - Principle Secretary and Incharge-Vice Chancellor of AU. Lok Sabha Member Mr. MVVS Murthy was also present at the meet.
