Foundation for synchronization unit of NTPC Simhadri 500 MW first unit
Union Minister Mr. Suresh Prabhu laid the foundation stone for the synchronization of the first unit of the 500 MW NTPC Simhadri Terminal at Visakhapatnam today. Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu was present as the Chief Guest.

Earlier Mr. Suresh Prabhu laid the foundation stone for the 500 MW HVDC Back-to-Back project of the Power Grid Corporation of India. Chief Minister Sri N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the newly constructed Prison premises near Adivivaram.

Union Minister inaugurates CCPP
Union Minister of Power Mr. Suresh P Prabhu inaugurated the 220 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) developed by BSES and SEW Construction Company as a joint venture in near Samarlakota. Speaking at the program, CM felt that the power prices by BSES are the lowest in the country ( as less as Rs. 1.80 per unit)

Congress Legislature Party argued in the Assembly today that the state budget was a very bad one and reflects the bankruptcy of the state government. Discussions on the State Budget began today.

Replying to this, Telugu Desam Party said that preference given to the needful sectors and that the budget was framed with various inputs from the sectors of the society.

Governor Dr Rangarajan and Chief Minister Mr N Chandrababu Naidu greeted the Muslim community of the state on the occasion of Id-Ul-Zuha.

The District Educational Officer of Cuddapah district Mr. VP Pulla Reddy said that all 9 persons selected for the DSC for the post of deaf and dumb category were found to posses fake certificates. Criminal cases were booked on them.

A fire accident in the store yard in Srisailam at 7 PM in the night destroyed equipment in the 5th Unit of the plant. The loss due to this is put at around Rs. 1 Crore
