32nd National Games CM at Vizag Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurates National Games events at Visakhapatnam
Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu declares the open of National Games at Visakha Port Sports Complex in Visakhapatnam. He felt that players of Andhra can put stiff competition at international level in all sports. He said that it is not fair to give major importance to Cricket and continue ignoring other sports. He said that Visakhapatnam will be the host for Volleyball, Roller Skating, Weightlifting at international level. President of Indian Olympic Association Mr. Suresh Kalmadi, Minister Mr. Ayyanna Patrudu, Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Legistlation Ms. Prathiba Bharai, Minister Mr. Yerran Naidu, Mr. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, B.V. Mohan Reddy, Ms. Mani Kumari, Mr. Devendar Goud, Mr. Ramulu, Mr. Ramakrishnudu, Mr. Narayana Swamy, Mayor of Visakhapatnam Ms. Rajana Ramani, Collector Mr. Sunil Sharma etc. took part on the occasion.

Weightlifting
A.Sandhyarani won a Gold medal for Karnataka in 48kg category breaking the 1999 National Record being set by A. Kunjarani devi. T. Gopal (Orissa) won silver and Kunjarani devi won bronze medal. Neelamsetti Krisnaveni of Andhra Pradesh came fourth.

Hockey
West Bengal won over Andhra Pradesh 4-1 in Men's Hockey. Meanwhile, the Maharashtra team captained by the Dhanraj Pillai won over Karnataka 2-0 and enters Semi-finals. Punjab managed a 3-2 win on Chandigarh while the Services and Tamil Naidu drew 1-1.

Badminton
In the Men's Single event the Andhra Pradesh Singles team won over Maharashtra at the game held at Gachibowli indoor stadium. Gupta Jwala (Andhra Pradesh) entered the quarter-finals after a win against Deepthi Priyadarshini.

Swimming
Dilip Kumar (Andhra Pradesh) won a Gold medal and sets new meet record in 100m breast stroke by reaching his destination in 1.07.18 min. Puneeth Raj and Vinay won silver and bronze medals respectively.

Diving
Dilip Kumar (Andhra Pradesh) won a Gold medal in 200m individual medaled event. Rashmi Das (Andhra Pradesh) with her 365. 30 points won a Gold and has set a new record in Women's High Board Diving. Suvarna Pal (West Bengal) won a silver in the same event.

Cycling
The Wellodrome at Osmania University Campus was the venue for 3 National records in Cycling. 21 year old Punjab Police Constable Sarathjit Singh has rewrote his 10-year old National record.

Fencing
Parandeep Singh(Punjab) in Men's EP, H Mangle (Punjab) in Men's Foil, Harini (Manipur) in Women's Sabre, Geetha Devi in Women's Foil won Golds at respective events at the Central University Sports Complex. Andhra Pradesh got silver and 2 bronze medals.

Kho-Kho
Karnataka and Maharashtra won straight matches in the league competitions and entered the Semis in Men's Kho-Kho while Punjab, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh confirmed their berth in Women's Semis at Uppal Municipal Stadium. On the other hand, Andhra Pradesh Men's and Women's teams entered semis.
